To avoid the risk of lead poisoning for yourself\, loved ones\, pets\, and others\, this course educates would-be renovators on how to perform lead-safe work practices safely. \nThis 8-hour course is required for contractors\, home improvement firms\, handymen\, and others involved in renovation work at pre-1978 housing and child occupied facilities. Training covers the dangers of lead paint\, and comprehensive safe renovation practices compliant with regulatory standards including the EPA Renovation\, Repair\, and Painting Rule\, as well as the HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule. \nUpon completing the course and passing the exam\, you’re considered a certified EPA Renovator. An EPA Lead Renovator certificate is emailed.

DESCRIPTION:16-hour Course – Starting a career in lead abatement requires understanding what lead is\, the dangers it poses\, where it can be found and how to safely and effectively remove it. \nThis 16-hour course teaches on-site lead abatement personnel about the dangers of lead\, the roles and responsibilities\, compliance with Federal\, State and local regulations\, and safe\, responsible lead abatement and hazard reduction practices. This course also satisfies OSHA training for workers exposed to lead. \nUpon completion of this course and completing the EPA application\, you’ll be certified to perform lead abatement work with refresher courses required to maintain certification. \nThis course is being sponsored by the Monroe County Health Department and is free of charge for attendees.
