Hazard Abatement Grant Due
Greetings;
The NYSDOL Hazard Abatement Board (HAB) grant applications are due February 13th.
Grant funding supports employee environmental, safety and health training for organizations that encounter physical and environmental hazards that may affect their work.
Examples include building renovation contractors whose staff may need OSHA construction safety or EPA Renovators training, or roofers and maintenance personnel who may need asbestos training to complete their assigned tasks.
EEA works with organizations across the State to provide HAB supported training services. Agencies like Erie Community College prepare HAB grant applications and help employers to obtain training through EEA.

Congrats to our old pal Marvin Murray, the winner of our first weekly environmental cleanup supplies raffle. This sure beats the cow chip raffle in Tully, eh Marv…
A couple training notes:
EEA has Lead Renovator sessions scheduled in Brooklyn, Buffalo, Binghamton and Rochester in the next ten days.
We’ve got a Lead Worker Initial this Saturday and Sunday in Buffalo. We’re also running a second Asbestos Supervisor Initial session next week in Buffalo. It’s always asbestos training weather there!
A sneak peak into February shows us that we’ll be holding an Asbestos Air Sampling Tech Initial in Syracuse.
Classes fill up quick this time of year, so register or call 888 436 8338.
Be well!
